About our Opportunity We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Planner who is passionate about their craft to join our diverse and innovative team of thought leaders.The successful candidate will be an essential part of the team focused on the growth and success of this high-profile not-for-profit organisation. This role will be instrumental in assisting the team to prepare for the opening of our Global Centre of Excellence in St Helens in mid-2023 and integral in the planning of the diverse project work which will follow. Working closely with and reporting to the Engineering Manager this role will have a variety of internal stakeholders and will be responsible for ensuring an excellent delivery of service to the GFL Engineering team. The successful candidate has the unrivalled opportunity to collaborate with leading experts from the glass and digital technologies sectors. Due to the nature of the business and St Helens project, a strong background in industry is highly advantageous for this role, however we are also open to hearing from exceptional experienced candidates with a wide scope of experience, demonstrable transferable skills, and core values to become an essential part of our team. Core Responsibilities Responsible for planning the maintenance department’s workload by routinely generating work plans and identifying priorities in conjunction with other internal stakeholders.Ensure that all jobs when planned are allocated an expected completion time. Be proficient in carrying out regular analysis of actual vs expected completion, generate and report trends.Through analysis of work completed or breakdown work requiring planning, update weekly and monthly plans on a daily basis.Lead the Planning meeting justifying the content of the plan and modifying as per stakeholder requirements.Responsible for ensuring housekeeping of the internal systems so that work orders are opened, scheduled and closed to agreed standards.When authorising work orders, ensure all fields on a new work orders are filled in correctly, if not return to the work order issuer identifying the errors.Review work order backlog on a regular basis and report KPI’s to the Engineering Manager.Minimise overdue work orders by feeding these into the work plans in a timely but efficient manner.Identify shortages of resources that could be affecting the work order backlog so that appropriate action is taken.Responsible for creating PPM’s and schedules withing the internal systems and for ensuring jobs are planned before the required due dates.Ensure that “kitting lists” are generated for all jobs where they are appropriate and add value.Ensure the plans produced allow time for preparation and kitting as well as job completion.Store all service reports and testing documentation within the internal systemsProduce and own annual maintenance and shutdown plans ensuring all of the planned jobs are allocated time and resources. During the shutdowns, update the plan on a regular basis rescheduling or closing jobs as appropriate.Recognise areas for improvement and play an active role in implementation.Conforms to Engineering document systems.Demonstrates a flexible approach to work outside of core skills and seeks relevant advice when required.
