The successful candidate will be an essential part of the team focused on the growth and success of this high-profile not-for-profit organisation. This role will be instrumental in assisting the Communication team to prepare for the opening of our Global Centre of Excellence in St Helens in mid-2023 and integral in the support of the promotion of diverse project work which will follow. Working closely with and reporting to the Communications, Digital and Marketing Manager this role will be responsible for ensuring an excellent delivery of service to the organisation’s membership.

The successful candidate has the unrivalled opportunity to collaborate with leading experts from the glass and digital technologies sectors. Due to the nature of the business and St Helens project, a strong background in industry is highly advantageous for this role, however we are also open to hearing from exceptional experienced candidates with a wide scope of experience, demonstrable transferable skills, and core values to become an essential part of our team.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, preparation and distribution of publicity materials.
  • Devise marketing campaigns.
  • Organise a calendar of marketing events and delivery of exhibitions, round tables, workshops and networking events.
  • Represent the company at events.
  • Undertake market research and establish the best way to reach target groups to support membership and organisational objectives.
  • Research and analyses of market trends, competitor offerings, demographics, and other information that affects marketing strategies.
  • Write, edit and proofread marketing material for use in different channels.
  • Assist in overseeing and updating the organisation’s website.
  • Maintain, develop and communicate through the organisation’s CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system.
  • Help maintain relationships with member organisations and collaborate with adjacent marketing teams to promote member’s news and activity in harmony with Glass Futures vision and mission.
  • Analyse the impact of marketing campaigns and prepare analytics reports.
  • Coordinate with outside agencies, for example designers, to produce marketing material.
  • Assist with the creation of press releases and communicate with the media.
  • Assist in management and maintenance of the organisation’s social media sites and create analytics reports to improve future performance.
  • Lead on production and dissemination of content plans.
  • Assist in the management and creation of engaging content for the monthly membership bulletin.
  • Work with Business Development and Project teams to promote collaboration opportunities with members and stakeholders.
  • Other work as required to support the organisation.

We are looking for exceptional organisational and administrative skills to ensure the successful management of a diverse workload and prioritisation of tasks, as well as a strong ability to process analytical data to measure and improve future performance of marketing activity.

Person Specification:

  • Strong client facing aptitude and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • A confident attitude and creative approach to a limited marketing budget.
  • Team Player: works collaboratively and flexibly to achieve outcomes and is keen to add value to the organisation’s culture and ethos.
  • Flexible, positive and adaptable, willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks.

Desirable Skills/Qualifications:

  • Excellent digital skills, including experience of content management systems such as WordPress.
  • Degree or equivalent e.g., CMI/CAM Cert/Dip
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a marketing and communications / public relations / digital role and understanding of branding
  • Understanding of the basic principles of email marketing systems and social media tools such as MailChimp, Hootsuite and Google Analytics.
  • Proven ability to effectively write and edit copy for different audiences.
  • Highly organised and strong administrative skills including excellent attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Excellent proof reading, copywriting and editing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with different teams.
  • An articulate and confident communicator.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing a diverse workload; being able to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
  • Ability to learn procedures so the organisation is compliant with relevant confidentiality and IP policies.

Salary:
£25,000-£30,000 dependant on experience.

Working Hours:
Full time, Monday to Friday 37.5 hours – we work flexibly within our core hours of 8am-4pm to support essential work life balance.

Location:
This is a hybrid-based role, and ideally the successful candidate should be within reasonable commute of St Helens/Sheffield and be willing to travel for regular events, partner and business meetings and various workshops.

Holidays:
25 days holiday plus bank holidays (FTE), pro rata may apply. Plus, additional service days.
