Communications, Digital & Marketing Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outgoing and dedicated Communications, Digital and Marketing Office to join a fast growing company in the not-for-profit R&D sector.

Your core role will be to create and implement communications strategies that further the company’s goals. As the company expands, they need someone who can promote the brand, interact with the public and establish productive relationships with key stakeholders. Applicants should be excited about developing and implementing plans to engage target audiences and spread the message about their vision and mission.

To this effect, we are looking for someone who is passionate about sustainability, believes in innovation as a core business strategy, and has a keen interest in science.

The Communications Officer will support internal and external communications strategy, write and disseminate publicity material, respond to enquiries from the public and media and coordinate promotional events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective comms strategy based on our target audience
  • Develop, support and promote company goals, including message development, social media content creation and media outreach
  • Develop and disseminate public relations materials that increase our visibility among stakeholders and potential members
  • Identify target audiences and create strategies to effectively engage them
  • Track analytics and create reports detailing successes and failures of communications campaigns.
  • Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics.
  • Ensure digital marketing content aligns with our brand’s identity and message and assist with marketing campaigns as needed
  • Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, and other marketing material that communicates the organisation’s activities and services.
  • Respond to media enquiries.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists and maintain a media database.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the brand and coordinate publicity events as required.
  • Assisting in the organisation of events, national and international. Overseas travel may be a requirement.

Requirements & Skills

  • Have proficiency in design and publishing software.
  • Understanding of media relations and digital media strategies.
  • Solid editing and researching skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities (oral and written).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Organisational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, familiarity with design software, photoshop or similar.

We are open to applications from graduates and candidates who have been apprenticeship trained to L5 or equivalent.
